IoT, or the Internet of Things, is a network of interconnected devices, vehicles, buildings, and other objects that collect and exchange data to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and create new services.

Imagine a city where all the traffic lights, public transportation, and parking meters are connected and communicate with each other. If a traffic jam occurs, the system can adjust the timing of traffic lights to improve the flow of traffic or redirect buses to avoid congestion. This interconnected city is like the Internet of Things, where devices work together to make our lives easier and more efficient.

An Open API, also called a Public API, is a publicly available application programming interface that provides developers with programmatic access to a proprietary software application or web service.

An Open API is like the ordering buttons on a public vending machine.

Restaurants tend to only be open for certain hours during the day. If you try to go to a restaurant after they are closed, you can't access their waiter to order your food. A public vending machine is open 24/7 and is available to anyone who walks by.

Maybe the vending machine is in the park. You first need to go to the park, and then you can access the vending machine. If there are a lot of people trying to use the vending machine at once, it may be a little slow to place your order, but at any time of the day, you are able to go and press those buttons to get a snack.

An Open API is one that is publicly available to anyone who wants to utilize it.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the quality and quantity of website traffic to a website or a web page from search engines. SEO targets unpaid traffic rather than direct traffic or paid traffic.

Search engine optimization is like a restaurant improving their Yelp profile.

A restaurant depends on the opinions and reviews of those who dine with them. The more people who like the restaurant, the better the reviews will be, the higher the restaurant will rank and the more customers the restaurant will get.

Yelp depends on the opinions of those who have been to the restaurant to build a profile for the restaurant itself. In order to get positive reviews, a restaurant needs to please their customers. This means they need to focus on a handful of variables to reflect their quality:

The restaurant is clean and the ambiance is well decorated. People wouldn't want to go to a restaurant with dirty floors or paint-chipped walls

The food is tasty! This is an obvious one.

The price is in-line with the quality of the food.

By improving all of these little details, the general presence of the restaurant will improve and therefore their rank on Yelp via Google will go up with better customer experiences.

Before you decide to contact them, you will consider why you need to to hire someone. You don't need this plumber on payroll, so there is no need to hire them as a personal employee. Have you tried all of the home remedies and still can't figure it out? Or are you busy with your own job so it wouldn't make sense for you to spend time to figure it out yourself? Either way, you know that you need to fix the problem now, because it will probably cause problems in the future.

As the employer of the contract worker, there is some risk in hiring someone you haven't worked with before. However, you can manage that risk by doing due diligence and communicating the scope of the project with the plumber.
